About our teachers
Kelly Connaghan
Yoga is for every body
Kelly's classes are based on a theurapeutic style of yoga, and she likes small class sizes so that she can get to know her students.
She started yoga classes around 23 years ago, and she loved it from the first class. It has been with her throughout difficult periods in life. It has brought her self acceptance, she’s met some really great likeminded people. She’s loved the journey and knows that she’ll be practicing it for the rest of her life.
The vision.
She started the studio in 2014, at the back of her house. Initially there was just one class, but now there are 10 regular classes a week, as well as workshops and courses.
She hopes to continue working closely with her regular students and also to introduce new ones to the benefits of yoga.
Her particular areas of expertise are pregnancy and post-natal yoga.
Kelly also offers several therapies in her therapy room, including Caesarean Scar Therapy, which she recently qualified in.
Blanche Thompson
Our India Expert
Blanche is originally from Pennsylvania, and has lived in Northern Ireland for many years. She loves India, and spends extended periods of time there twice a year.
When she isn't in India, Blanche runs classes in the Olympia Leisure Centre in Belfast and for the MS society too. Her class here on Monday evenings is really popular, and she has built up a dedicated group of students.
Blanche is fully qualified as a childrens yoga and special needs yoga teacher.
One student has this to say about Blanche:
"Blanche is a great yoga teacher. Welcoming to all. Always there to lend a hand (or foot!) and give you that extra little push when needed to help you progress. Her classes are always well planned and varied. Can not recommend Blanche enough. I always look forward to her classes and workshops."
Lynda Gregg
Lynda started work as a general nurse for 8 years. She changed her career in the early 80’s and trained in Aerobics, Gym, Step Aerobics, Kids Fitness and Pilates. Bodywork Fitness Club opened in Lisburn in 1993 offering a gym, fitness classes, crèche and Pilates.
Lynda, always keen to keep up to date, took ongoing courses in Health and Fitness and Business. In 1997 she won the ‘Women in Business, Most Enterprising Award’ run by the Ulster Bank.
Lynda became more intrigued with Yoga and trained with the YTTC Marie Quail and gained her Yoga Diploma. Lynda then trained further and completed the Second Stage Teacher’s Certificate and a course in Astanga Yoga.
The fitness business was sold in 2004 when Lynda moved to Donegal where ‘Sankalpa Yoga’ was born and Lynda taught Yoga in Donegal for 10 years.
Lynda now lives back in Lisburn, but her love for Donegal takes her back to do workshops and meet friends. Thanks to the Women’s Group in Killybegs and their support she has now opened her own Yoga school - Skyblue Yoga through Yoga Alliance's stringent requirements.
Lynda has been delivering her unique teacher training course at Lough Road Yoga for the past 8 years, and all her students have really enjoyed their time with her.
The next course begins in October 2025.
